A beautiful day in Cape Town, I got too much sun ‘cause the fresh climate by the sea here meant I didn’t have to hide from the sun, as is the case nearly everywhere I’ve been in southern Africa (at least this time of year). I walked along the tidepool and kelp-studded coastline near my hotel (Sea Point area), then drove down to Hout Bay, where a fine beach is located.  The seals were surfing the waves and fishing.  Then just north of Hout Bay I walked down near sunset, and there was a wreck, not visible from the road.  As night fell, I made a little side-trip up to Signal Mountain.  From there, an illuminated Table Mountain looms over the lights of Cape Town.  Tomorrow the southernmost tip of this continent, the Cape of Good Hope.
