Sulfur Spring, which erupts in a bubbling fury for most of the time, is located away from any trail, in Yellowstone’s Hayden Valley.  It is worth the cross-country hike, because it is beautiful, with delicate yellow sulfur crystals, along with cool sinter mounds, around it.  A bonus is you have the place all to yourself, which in Yellowstone is always nice.
