An old aspen, twisted by the winds and weather atop the Paunsaungunt Plateau (Bryce Canyon NP) of southern Utah, opens its arms to spring. This was during a bluebird day XC skiing through the Ponderosas and occasional Aspens. Very very nice ski, highly recommend this time of year at that park, because of the option to both ski atop the plateau, and hike below the rim (though the trails are muddy, slushy and slippery). Nights were cold and star-filled, and days were surprisingly warm.
